Record on your wrist, add the watch face complication, and sync notes back to your iPhone.

MeetMic on Apple Watch records meetings, interviews, and quick voice notes straight from your wrist — no phone in hand, no bot in the call. Recordings sync to your iPhone on their own, and the finished transcript comes back to the watch.

Requirements

  • watchOS 11 or later

  • MeetMic installed on your iPhone

  • An Apple Watch paired with that iPhone

Install MeetMic on your Apple Watch

  1. Open the Watch app on your iPhone.

  2. Scroll down to Available Apps.

  3. Find MeetMic and tap Install.

If your watch installs apps automatically, MeetMic appears on it on its own shortly after you install the iPhone app. You can also get there from inside MeetMic: Settings → Apple Watch → Install Watch App.

Add MeetMic to your watch face

A complication puts MeetMic one tap away, and shows your elapsed time while a recording is running.

From your iPhone

  1. Open the Watch app on your iPhone.

  2. Under My Faces, tap the face you use.

  3. Tap the complication slot you want to change.

  4. Choose MeetMic from the list.

  5. Tap Set as current Watch Face.

From your Apple Watch

  1. Press and hold the watch face, then tap Edit.

  2. Swipe left to the Complications screen.

  3. Tap the slot you want to change.

  4. Turn the Digital Crown to MeetMic.

  5. Press the Digital Crown to save, then tap the face.

MeetMic fits circular, corner, inline, and rectangular slots. When nothing is recording, the complication is a shortcut into the app. While a recording is running it shows the elapsed time, and the rectangular slot also shows whether you are recording or paused.

Record from your wrist

  1. Open MeetMic on your watch.

  2. Tap Record. To record a scheduled meeting under its own name, tap it under Coming up instead — meetings from your iPhone calendar show up there.

  3. Pause and resume from the recording screen as needed.

  4. Tap Done when the meeting ends.

Recording keeps going when you lower your wrist, when the screen turns off, and while you use other apps on the watch. It does not need your iPhone: a watch note recorded out of range syncs later.

What happens after you tap Done

The note is saved on the watch and queued for your iPhone. Each note shows where it is:

  • Waiting to sync — saved on the watch, waiting for your iPhone.

  • Syncing — the audio is transferring, with a percentage.

  • Sent — handed over to your iPhone.

  • Synced — your iPhone confirmed it arrived.

Keep the two devices near each other until the transfer finishes. If you walk out of range it picks up by itself once you are back, and neither app has to stay open on screen.

Find your watch notes on iPhone

Watch notes land in your MeetMic recordings list alongside everything else you record. To see what has not arrived yet, open Settings → Apple Watch → Watch Notes — anything still in flight is listed there.

Transcribe a watch note

  • Automatically: turn on Settings → Apple Watch → Auto-transcribe. Watch notes are transcribed as soon as they arrive, while MeetMic is open on your iPhone.

  • Manually: open the recording on your iPhone and transcribe it as usual.

When the transcript is ready, MeetMic sends it back to your watch — open the note there to read it. Until then the note says "Open on iPhone to transcribe".

Play and manage notes on your watch

Tap the list button at the top right of the MeetMic home screen to see every note on the watch. From there you can play a note back, read its transcript, and swipe left on a row to delete it. Notes stay on the watch after they sync, so clearing them is up to you.

If a watch note does not sync

  1. Bring your watch and iPhone close together.

  2. Check that Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are on, and that neither device is in Airplane Mode.

  3. Open MeetMic on the watch — that nudges the queue.

  4. Open MeetMic on your iPhone.

  5. Still stuck? Open the note on your watch and tap Retry. After several failed attempts MeetMic stops retrying on its own, and the note waits for you there.

Do not delete a note from the watch until it says Synced — until then, the watch holds the only copy.

If a recording is interrupted

An incoming call, Siri, or another app taking the microphone stops the recording. MeetMic keeps everything captured up to that moment and saves it as a note, so nothing recorded is lost — start a new recording to carry on.
